Visit the beautiful sites along the south shore and learn about the 2010 eruption. The south shore is an instant classic that offers a visit to two waterfalls, a black sand beach and ocean cliffs, Sólheimajökull glacier (you can touch the ice), visit to a folk museum and visit a learning center about the Eyjafjallajökull erupts 2010.
On this tour you will stop at Seljalandsfoss waterfall where you can walk behind in mild weather, the photogenic waterfall Skógafoss, at Sólheimajökull where you can walk all the way to the glacier and touch the ice. Then you will stop at black sand beach of Reynisfjara or Cape Dyrhólaey with columnar basalt formations, seaside cliffs and ocean carved caves. Between 15th of may and 20th of august you can see puffins there.
On you way you will also stop at the folk museum at Skógar and at the visitors center of the 2010 volcanic eruptions: "Eyjafjallajökull erupts Visitor's center" at Þorvaldseyri. There you will see 20 minute film made by the people that live right under the volcano where you learn more about the eruption and the aftermath.
This tour is a must do. You will not regret it.
